Mural 2018 - William Morris Primary School

William Morris Primary School pupils wanted to create a bright, interactive and beautiful artwork to display in their local community of Pollards Hill. To compliment and contrast United Living’s new housing projects located only a few minutes from the school, the pupils chose to incorporate flora and fauna from British wildlife and their natural environment. The pupils also wanted to include the back drop of London cityscape to reflect the importance of the city they live in and are actively apart of. The pupils took turns in painting the boards over 2 weeks to prepare the boards to be installed onto the hoarding. The exciting eye-catching barn owl is an interactive element in the art mural which allows pupils and people from the local community near Pollards Hill to take pictures with the idea of having their very own wings. This encourages community engagement and interaction for all children and young people to use their smart phones in a positive and fun way- they can walk past and take an owl selfie!
