Teacher's Comments

Welcome to our Motivated Monument classroom!

We are an enthusiastic and hard-working group of children who take great pride in our learning.

Our class is named after the Monument underground station. This is where there is a memorial building in the shape of a column which is known as The Monument. Built between 1671-1677, the memorial commemorates the Great Fire of London and celebrates the rebuilding of the city. Starting at a bakery in Pudding lane, the fire devastated a large part of the city. Rebuilding itself, the City is now a thriving, strong and motivated community. Just as we are in our class.

This will be an exciting and busy year where we will first be learning about The Monument and the Great Fire of London and discovering 50 Books to Read Before you are 11 and 3/4. Which books do you believe are a must read or a page turner?

We will be looking forward to lots of exploring with Miss Morrey-Jones and Mrs Cullen throughout the year including themes like Land Ahoy, Who's Henry? Fairy Tales and The Beach.

We are a caring and respectful class who love to learn! We believe that learning should be fun and enjoy taking risks in our learning along the way. We have high expectations of ourselves and always try our hardest to be the best that we can possibly be. We are proud and would like to share our achievements with you.

Pop to our classroom now and again to check out what we have been up to.
