Hamilton – A happy and hardworking class.

In Hamilton class we aim to be happy, helpful, friendly, caring and cooperative. We are keen to learn and are ready to work hard and do our best. We enjoy exploring and investigating the world around us. We are interested and enthusiastic learners.

As part of the Foundation Stage we focus on seven curriculum areas and aim to develop the characteristics of an effective learner through independent and focused activities within a play based curriculum.

Our class is named after the sportsman Lewis Hamilton. He is a Formula One racing driver who became the F1 world champion in 2008, 2014 and 2015 through his hard work, skill and determination. He inspires us to work hard to practise our skills, to learn from our mistakes and to keep on trying to reach our goals.

Our class author is Mick Inkpen, well known for his stories about Kipper the dog. His first book The Blue Balloon was published in 1989. He has won many awards for his work and he continues to write and illustrate stories about Kipper and his friends and other stories too. We look forward to reading his books this year.

As the school year starts and we begin full time school we look forward to continuing our learning journey in Hamilton class.
