Friends Of Singlegate School

Everyone who has a child at Singlegate Primary School automatically becomes a member of the FriendsOf Singlegate School - FOSS.

FOSS is an important aspect of our committed home school partnerships supporting the school in a variety of ways.

The main aim of FOSS is to build a partnership that advances the education of the pupils in the school by:

  • developing extended relationships between the staff, families and others associated with the school
  • engage in activities which support the work of the school e.g. organising events and fund-raising
  • creating links with the wider community

An Annual General Meeting is held at the beginning of the Autumn Term and at this meeting a committee and representatives from across the school are elected.

There are many ways that families can be involved with FOSS and the life of the school for example:

  • become a committee member
  • take on the role of class representative
  • offer help at particular events or fund raising activities
  • sharing your expertise or specific skills

It is appreciated that families can support the work of FOSS in many different ways, all parents are eligible to attend meetings and there is a role for everyone depending how much time you are able to give.

FOSS provides a special role within the school and it is hoped that everyone will feel part of this association and be able to offer their help where appropriate.
